Ruben began his formal education studying business and chemistry, following his parents’ wishes that he attends school to pursue a “stable career.” Long before his college days, Ruben’s interest in the beauty industry emerged during his childhood when he would accompany his mother on her visits to the beauty salon. Instead of sitting in boredom watching the hours pass like most children would, Ruben was enthralled by the styling process and amazed at how his mother would walk out “even more beautiful than she was before.”
Ruben kept his promise of finishing school and went on to have a successful career in the pharmaceutical industry for over 15 years but found he could not ignore his passion for styling.
With his parents’ wishes fulfilled and an impressive career behind him, Ruben still felt something was missing. After taking a leap of faith, he left his old life behind and began following his lifelong dream and true calling.
Today, Ruben is a highly skilled stylist with over a decade of experience under his belt. Certified in Brazilian Blowout and keratin treatments, Ruben is best known for his precision cuts and does color and Balayage among other services. Equipped with advanced training from Aveda, color training with Beth Minardi, and education from both Renee Furterer and Redken, he has developed his own style of layered cuts that create depth and movement.
